The 59th Idea Filmfare Awards 2013 is scheduled and the awards will be distributed on January 24, YRF Studios in Andheri.
This year the ceremony will usher viewers on a light-hearted trip through the “Bollywood of the future”. Considering the “futuristic theme”, the award trophies are not usual mould, rather each Black Lady is “digitally sculpted” in 3-D.
Priyanka Chopra was the guest for the press meet to announce the awards which was held in a suburban hotel on Monday evening. Tarun Rai, the CEO of Worldwide Media that publishes Filmfare magazine, said these awards have partnered Indian cinema for 60 of the last 100 years. They were instituted in 1954 with five trophies and now include 31 categories.
“Every year we try and better the previous year’s award show. This year we are raising the bar higher. We will take a humorous peek into the future of Bollywood, a flash forward to the next 100 years. And in the spirit of the theme, we have a special edition of the Black Lady to give away—a 3-D printed one,” Rai said.
The organizers are working hard to show innovation in the Trophy design . In 2013, which marked the centenary of Indian cinema, they had devised a gold rimmed award.
